We are learning about Nz Native Birds for Green Week.

Here are 3 SUPER DUPER Interesting facts that I learnt.👍😊

1. The teacher who came in brang in a stuffed Kereru/Wood Pigeon and held it up in the air. While it was in the air she wa s spinning it around and its feathers were changing colors.🌈 Thats because when a predator is above it it can only see black and the Kereru is camouflaged.
2. Did you know that Tuis have sharp beaks that are kinda curved downwards for sucking nectar out of flowers.
3. The reason why NZ Native Birds are going Extinct is because when the english came here they brang pests to kill the birds like Possums and Stotz.
